Forklift tyre IT30

PR (Ply Rating) INDEX
Symbol found on diagonal tyres indicating the load factor (load index).
The number next to the symbol indicates the number of plies of linen used in the construction of the tyre. It dates back to the time when cotton thread was used for tyre construction and was then the actual number of carcass cords.
Nowadays, the modern man-made fibres used in tyre construction have meant that the number of plies is usually less and the PR index is only equivalent to the number of plies in the old technology (cotton threads). For example, a tyre with a PR8 index actually has 4 layers of nylon fibres.
A higher PR index means a higher load capacity at the same speed (A6 = 30 km/h).
Tyres with radial construction use a different load designation, depending on the speed index.
